
Network marketing or multi-level marketing (MLM) businesses have a very high rate of rejections and objections. There’s a difference between both and it’s absolutely critical that you understand the difference between the two so that you can do your business right. Here are the definitions:
Objection is disagreement with an actual reason or cause. Rejection, however, is refusal to accept.
It’s important to differentiate the two because when you are faced with objections, there are legitimate reasons or causes behind the objection. You will then need to find out the reason behind that objection through questioning techniques. If you are able to handle the question and objection skillfully, you will have increased your chances of converting the prospect into a client or a downline.
When facing with rejections in network marketing, a lot of people tend to get hurt by the rejection. What they don’t realise is that when they get rejected, they are not the ones that are being rejected. It’s the opportunity that’s being rejected. So, be thankful to the ones who reject the opportunity. Inform them that you are thankful for letting them know that they have rejected your opportunity and it’s fine with you, because now, you can find someone else who wants to seize the opportunity together with you to make a better future.
Successful objection handling is an art and there are techniques to be learned either through research or by asking your uplines. Rejection handling is much simpler to handle, just move on.
